  • Effective January 1, 2014, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires inclusion of a National Clinical Trial (NCT) identifier number on patient claims associated with clinical trial participation.
  • This number is required to receive reimbursement from Medicare for routine/standard of care items and services provided to patients on a clinical trial.
