This training course provides an opportunity to explore methods to improve clinical trial awareness among racial and ethnic minority populations. Strategies and resources to improve awareness will be presented along with opportunities for input/feedback regarding these methods and resources. Potential issues related to implementation of strategies will be reviewed. This course is designed for patient navigators, principal investigators, referring clinicians, and research staff.

This course is the second of four trainings on EMPACT's web site. The specific learning objectives for this course are:

  1. Identify evidence-based and other methods for improving awareness about clinical trials among racial and ethnic minority populations.
  2. Assess existing resources for educating racial and ethnic minority patients about clinical trials or for improving awareness about clinical trials.
  3. Evaluate how these methods and resources can be adapted by stakeholders for local implementation among racial and ethnic minority patients at the individual- and community-levels.
